Bear Mountain Boats
This is where I bought the plans for my boat. Tedd Moores, the owner, wrote the book "Canoecraft", a must read for anyone building a strip canoe. There's a very active builder's discussion forum.

Ray Klebba's White Salmon Boat Works
Ray runs a canoe/kayak building school in White Salmon, Washington. Before I started my boat, he was kind enough to patiently answer my questions while I poked around his shop. He also invited me to display my boat in his booth at the 2002 Portland Wooden Boat Show, and also invited me to his boat builder's picnic.

Brett's Coho kayak
My friend Brett built this great kayak from Pygmy Boats while I was building my canoe.

Handcraftedcanoes.com
James Gjesing builds beautiful canoes and kayaks for sale in Ontario. The world needs more wooden boats -- James is working hard to achieve that goal.

Peter's Freedom 17
Peter contacted me when he found that I had built the same boat he intended to build, and that we were neighbors. Before he started, he came over to look at my boat, then we stayed in touch during construction. He finished it in July of 2003. Here's a picture from a day in September we went paddling together. I'd like to get more pictures of his boat, he did a wonderful job.

Harvey Golden's Traditional Arctic Skinboats
Harvey is a leading authority on authentic traditional skin on frame watercraft.

Fiberglass Supply in Bingen WA.
I bought my fiberglass here. There are several sources in Portland, but this place specializes in sailboards, canoes, kayaks and surfboards. They know the market and were very helpful and friendly.
